George A. Constable, 32. the Major died on May 23 1968 when his Cessna was shot down in Bein Hoa Province about three days after returning from leave in Australia to see his new baby daughter.

Robert T. Convery, 22. Lieutenant Bobby Convery was "fragged " by a grenade being thrown into his tent at the Australian base at Nui Dat , at midnight November 23 1969, five days before he was due to return home and 17 days before his 23rd birthday. A private soldier from an Australian Battalion was sentenced to life imprisonment for his murder.

Kevin G. Conway, 35. Attached to US Speacial Forces with the rank of temporary Warrant Officer. He was killed in action at Nam Dong, Thua Thien Province. He held the Medal of Knight of National Order of Vietnam , Cross of Gallantry with Palm. Extra info suplied by Bob Coker----Ref. Kevin Conway. Kevin, as part of the AATTV, was attached to US Special Forces Detachment A-726 and was part of the 12 man det. under the command of Capt. Roger Donlon. Camp Nam Dong was attacked at 0225hrs on 6 Jul 64 and Kevin was KIA at 0230 with a AK-47 rd to the head. The attackers numbered approx. 700 NVA/VC against the camp strength of approx. 300 local militia. Kevin was the first of our blokes to be KIA in our 10 yr involvement. Of the 12 men of the Detachment 3 were KIA and 7 were WIA. Roger Donlon was awarded the Bronze Star after the battle and was later awarded the Medal of Honour, the first in Vietnam.( Supplied by Kerry Bulow) WO2 Kevin Conway also saw service in the Korean War and with 1R.A.R in Malaya, he was also awarded a Campaign Service Medal with clasp South Vietnam (this is a very rare award only 68 issued, all to the AATTV); he also was awarded the US Silver Star and the Vietnamese Armed Forces Honour Medal, 2nd Class as well as the two you mention and the Meritorious Unit Commendation and the Gallantry Cross Palm Unit Citation. Kevin Conway (he was a Sgt at the time) was recommended for the Victoria Cross, but this was denied as at that time, because Australia was not at war. The Government saw fit not to award Conway with anything but the South Vietnamese awarded him their highest award being the National Order of Vietnam.

Geoffrey J. Coombs, 22.He served with 1 Field Squadron, RAE as a sapper. He was killed by a land mine in the Long Hai hills, Phuoc Tuy March 22 1968.

Alan J. Cooper, 20. With 2 Platoon, A Company 3RAR in December 1967 . He was killed at 4am May 26 1968 when Fire Support Base Balmoral in Bien Hoe Province was overrun by the enemy during the Tet Offensive.

Russell J. Copeman, 20. On January 18 1967 aged 19, he was shot at Phuoc Tuy, suffering multiple internal wounds. He was evacuated to Australia but died on April 10 1967.

Brendan F. Coupe,23. The corporal with 5RAR was killed during a motar attack 12 miles north of Vung Tau, Phuoc Tuy, Province June 10 1966

James G. Cox, 22. The private with 7RAR died at 8 Field Ambulance of wounds received in Phuoc Tuy Province June 26 1967.

Raymond J. Cox, 22. The private with 1RAR was killed in action in Phuoc Tuy Province December 28 1968. He had five or six weeks left to serve.

Ronald E. Coxson, 27. The lance corporal with 1RAR was killed in action at Ben Cat, Phuoc Tuy Province, January 13 1966.

Noel V. Crouch, 22. The private with 7RAR was killed in action in Phuoc Tuy Province, May 21 1970.

Bryan T. Cullen, 20. On his first patrol outside the wire with D Company 7RAR Private Cullen was fataly wounded and died November 27 1967

Timothy J. Cutliffe, 21. The private with 2RAR died of blast wounds an hour after treading on a mine in Phuoc Tuy Province, August 25 1967.

Anatoly Danilenko, 24. The temporary Captian was killed in action in Quang Tri Province on Anzac Day 1968. He was mentioned in dispatches. (posthumously)

Gordon H. D'Antoine, 20. The private with 5RAR was killed in action in Phuoc Tuy Province October 18 1966

Barry N. Davidson, 22. Private Davidson died at the 24 US Evac Hospital at Long Binh of wounds received during a contact in Long Khanh Province October 1 1968

Rex W . Davies. 25. The temporary Lieutenant with 7RAR was accidentally killed in Phuoc Tuy when friendly patrols clashed October 27 1970

Ronald E. Davies, 24. He was working with 9RAR when he was killed on May 28 1969 in Phuoc Tuy. According to a friend who knew him in Vietnam, Davies, who was often attached to US and South Vietnamese Units, had become convinced that he was going to be killed

Walter J. Davidson, 27. Serving in Vietnam as a medic with 8 Field Ambulance attached to 2RAR. Private Davidson died at the 24 US Evac. Hospital at Long Binh January 27 1968 of wounds received in Bien Hoa Province.

Ian K. Dawson, 24. The corpral rifleman with 1RAR was killed in action in Bien Hoa Province May 14 1968

Peter Dawson, 24. The corporal with 4RAR was killed in action in Phuoc Tuy Province on the night of March 7 1969.

Ramon J.P. Deed, 21. The sapper with 1 Field Squadron died at the 24 US Evac. Hospital at Long Binh May 10 1967 of wounds received during mine laying operations at the Horseshoe, Phuoc Tuy, the previous day

John W. Deanoy,22. The private with 3RAR was killed in action in Bien Hoa Province at 3.30 am May 26 1968.

Thomas J. De Vries Van Leeuwen, 22. The private with 3RAR was killed in action in Bien Hoa Province at 1.15am February 18 1968

Keith I. Dewar, 21. Lance corporal Dewar had been attached to B Squadron 3 Cavalry Regiment from October 1968 to January 1969 and had stayed on with that unit without official orders. He was killed when an APC detonated a mine during a land clearing operation in Phuoc Tuy june 24 1969.

Stephen W. Dickson, 21. Private Dickson, who had not long before transferred from a mortar platoon with C Company 7RAR, was killed along with two others by a mine in Phuoc Tuy June 6 1970

John A. Doherty, 23. The private with 3RAR was dead on arrival at the 93 US Evac. Hospital after receiving head wounds during a mortar attack in Bien Hoa at 1.15am February 18 1968, 13 days after his birthday.

Barry C. Donald, 29. Captian Donald was killed when he was shot down by enemy during a training flight in Phuoc Tuy, 10.30pm December 3 1969.

Denis J. Donnelly, 21. The corporal with 104 Signals was killed at the Australian base, Nui Dat, Phuoc Tuy, when he was cleaning a F1 sub-machine gun and looked down the barrel on August 9 1967

William W. Donnelly,19. The private with 1RAR died at the US Evac. Hospital at Long Binh of a head wound received during a contact in Phuoc Tuy November 24 1968

David G. Doyle,19.The driver/signalman with B Squadron 3 Cavalry Regiment was killed in Phuoc Tuy on July 31 1970 when the vehicle in which he was riding backed up to a helicopter and he was struck by the blades.

Glenn A. Drabble,21. A private with 11 Platoon D Company 6RAR, he was killed at the Battle of Long Tan in Phuoc Tuy on August 18 1966.
