| Champagne Flight | A flight after a patrol has been picked up following a patrol operation that has resulted in enemy killed |

| Rappelling | Sliding down a rope attached to a helicopter, The object was to insert a patrol away from normal landing zones that the enemy may be observing, The patrol would all go at the same time. |
| Extraction | Bringing a patrol out of an area of operation |
| Hot Extraction | Bringing a patrol out of an area of operation. The Extraction method was to lower a rope from a helicopter while it hovered at some height above the ground, the patrol would hook onto the rope in two's and threes and still hanging below the helicopter would fly to a landing zone considered to be relatively safe, where the helicopter would lower the patrol to the ground, they would unhook, the helicopter would then land and the patrol would clamber aboard and be flown home |

| Lay Up | A position of defence that a patrol would assume a break, often referring to a stop of short duration, though sometimes for a longer period |

| OTLP | one Time Letter Pad. A code system where a patrol used a page of code in the book that had it's matching book back at base. Each page would be used only once |
| POO | Point Of Origin A map referencing system where grid references of the map where used as a point of origin rather than a patrol giving their direct grid reference as to their position, remembering that the enemy could read maps to, they used several grid references prearranged to be a point of origin. |
